Journal Through the Bible: Exploring the Old Testament
Explore the Old Testament through reflection, prayer, creative journaling, and time with God (plus instructor feedback on your final assignment)
It is vital for Christians to draw from deep wells of prayer and scripture. In this 39-lesson class, you will be invited to immerse yourself in God's Word, as you pray and journal creatively by exploring the Old Testament. Each lesson takes you to a different book of the Old Testament, so you can prayerfully explore a section of scripture. Each assignment will encourage you to spend quiet time with God, to pray and reflect, to interact with the scripture, and to respond with creative journaling. Allow God's Spirit and His Word to bring new life to your heart and to your journaling. Explore, journal, and enjoy this journey with Him. This class is for anyone who loves to spend time with God in His Word and who loves to journal interactively and creatively.
If you are taking this course as a writer, after you have completed the course, you will be invited to submit a writing assignment for feedback. Some students prefer to take this course as a Bible study or biblical prayer experience without getting feedback. That is absolutely fine. Submitting an assignment is optional. But it is available to you, if you want it, and it's included as part of your course.
I look forward to seeing you in the course.
P.S. You can also purchase this Bible study as a paperback book or Kindle e-book (available on Amazon) - Journal through the Old Testament (Janet Lynn Eriksson). The material in the book is the same as the material in the online course. Some students prefer an online classroom environment while others prefer a self-study in book form. Others might prefer both options. You can choose what works best for you. Feedback on your writing assignment is available only through the online course.
